This 4-star Parador located at the very heart of the Val d’Aran in the village of Arties, perhaps the prettiest of the villages in a valley renowned for its outstanding beauty and picture-postcard villages.
The hotel is a fine example of the local architecture, with parts dating back to the 14th and 15th centuries, but has been sympathetically modernised to provide all the creature comforts. There’s a comfortable lounge with a welcoming fire in cooler months, a gym with spa-pool which connects with the hotel’s delightful outdoor swimming pool.
As well as the modern breakfast room the hotel has a cosy restaurant-cum-cocktail lounge and a sunny terrace with views to Mount Montardo.

Set below the 2800m Mount Montardo, at the mid-point of the Val d’Aran halfway between Vielha and Baqueira-Beret, Arties is one of the larger and prettier of the valley’s villages, boasting two churches, Sant Joan and Santa María, where you can find a mix of early-Romanesque to pure Gothic architecture.
The village also has plenty of bars and restaurants which are lively in the ski season and again in the summer when it becomes a centre for trekking, mountain biking and all kinds of activities.
Arties is one of the entrances to the Aranese side of the Parc Nacional d’Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici via the Valartries Valley which offers stunning routes direct from the village.
