4-star Hotel / Parador
HARA2, Vielha, Catalonia
4 star modern parador located in the impressive valley of Aran, in the Pyrenees
Set on a strategic vantage point above the resort town of Vielha, at the crossroads of the three valleys which make up the Val d’Aran, this stylish, 4-star Parador offers truly remarkable views from every window.
The star of the show is, without doubt, the magnificent, slate-roofed round tower which houses the spacious lounge and panoramic restaurant – both of which offering 360º views of the stunning surroundings – though the immaculate gardens and swimming pools might take the prize after a hard day’s yomping in the mountains.
The views from the rooms are equally beguiling, particularly the superior rooms whose sun-lit balconies all face straight down the valley. Built in the 1960s the hotel has been renovated several times since and the décor in rooms and common spaces is gently modern with wooden floors and neutral tones.
Apart from the spring-fed outdoor pool there is a recently renovated spa with saunas, a massage room and an indoor / outdoor infinity style pool as well as a hot tub and solarium deck to soak in the sun – and, of course, those views!
Though larger than most of our selected hotels the atmosphere is very welcoming – and with strong links with many local companies for every kind of activity including bike hire, rafting, guided walks and nature experiences, the exceptionally friendly staff will go out of their way to ensure you get the most out of your visit to the valley.
