The essence of northern Catalonia in a compact one-week itinerary taking in the best of the Catalan Pyrenees, the Volcanic Park of La Garrotxa and the Costa Brava.

In the high mountains of the north-west you can trek in the highly accessible National Park of Aiguestortes i Sant Maurici, see the glacier of Aneto and explore the picture-postcard villages with their World Heritage Romanesque churches.

In La Garrotxa visit medieval Santa Pau and Besalú, take a balloon ride over the volcanoes and sample the Cuina Volcanica – local ingredients grown in volcanic soil and visit Figueres, home of the unmissable, unique Dalí museum.

And – for the grand finale – walk the Cami de Ronda or simply soak in the sun and the views by the crystal clear waters of the Costa Brava.
