Catalonia Touring Holidays

Famous for its warm climate, sandy beaches, unique language and culture and, of course, Barcelona – not bad for starters , but our Catalonia tours have so much more to offer…

Carthaginians, Romans, Moors, Templars and Napoleonic troops – all have left their mark here. You’ll find fascinating medieval villages and castles, ancient Romanesque churches and, in Tarragona and Empuria Brava, Spain’s most impressive Roman remains sitting aside the azure Mediterranean sea.

Follow the footsteps of Picasso, Gaudí and Dalí and and you’ll find a rich heritage and a thriving modern culture, whether in the museums of Barcelona,  or marvelling at the Modernista architecture to be found throughout the region.

Hikers will find their paradise in the high Pyrenees, on the Costa Brava’s wonderful Cami de Ronda coastal path or in the vineyards and rice fields of the far south.

Known internationally for its fine wines and cava, the region boasts fish from the Med, rice from the Delta and olive oil everywhere, making it a pillar of the Mediterranean diet.

Bespoke Catalonia Touring Holidays

Our expert team will help you plan your trip – adapting the route to fit with your flights, taking into account your personal needs and interests be it gastronomy, bird watching, wine tasting, Picasso, Gaudi, Modernist architecture, watersports, trekking in the mountains… you name it!

Our Catalonia tours are designed to make the most of the region’s well known highlights – Barcelona, Costa Brava and Costa Dorada but at the same time help you discover a different side of this fascinating province.

Taking advantage of the abundant flight connections to Girona (in the north near the Costa Brava) and Reus (in the south near the Costa Dorada) we’ve designed one-way tours including Coastal Catalonia and Mar y Montaña as well as an array of circular tours flying into any of the three Catalan airports.

To get a broad view of the whole region we’d recommend our 14-night Discover Catalonia tour. Or if you’ve already been to Barcelona, or don’t want to include the city, our one-way Mar y Montaña is an excellent way to see the rest of the province without having to retrace your footsteps.

Our northern Catalan tours cover Barcelona, the Costa Brava and the Spanish Pyrenees, including the Garrotxa Volcanic Park and the National Park of Aiguestortes. To really get to know Catalonia’s northern lands of the Discover North Catalonia tour is perhaps the one for you, combining city stops & natural highlights with time on the Costa Brava. For a pure mountain expedition try our Catalan Pyrenees Adventure.

If the coast, and its immediate hinterland, is your main interest our Coastal Catalonia tour, which loosely follows the Camí de Ronda coastal path, takes in the Costa Brava, Costa Dorada and the Delta de Ebro whilst exploring the fascinating wine regions of Alt Penedés (Cava country) and Priorat and building in a city break in Barcelona.

In southern Catalonia just take a short step from the resorts of the Costa Dorada to find a treasure trove of fascinating things to see and do. Tarragona with its World Heritage Roman remains is not to be missed, nor is the Ebro Delta, teeming with exotic birdlife – flamingos included. The wine regions of Priorat and Alt Penedés (where the Cava comes from) also offer wonderful hiking in amazing scenery and there are delightful historic villages and delicious delicacies wherever you go. Our Secrets of Southern Catalonia tour will help you make the most out of your adventure in the south.

For wine lovers the south of Catalonia is the place to head for with being home to Priorat and Montsant wine regions as well as the lesser known Terra Alta and of course the Alt Penedés which produces some interesting table wines as well as its famous Cava. Our Secrets of Southern Catalonia itinerary brings In all those regions plus Reus, the main centre for Spanish Vermouth.

To combine the charms of the Basque Country and the Pyrenees with those of Catalonia we have devised the Costa Brava Run a ‘dash’ from coast to coast, Bilbao to the Costa Brava and back via the mountains – ideally suited for those coming by ferry.
