This magnificent 4-star Parador perches on top of the rugged hill of Santa Catalina, looking out across the historic city of Jaén, on the site of a Moorish fortress extended the imposing castle complex built after the reconquest of the city in 1246.
The Parador's interior boasts an impressive arched main hall. Rooms are simply decorated with tiled floors and pastel shades and offer balconies looking out over endless olive groves of the Guadalquivir basin to the distant Sierra Morena or south to the Sierra Nevada.
The castle's contain pleasant gardens and a swimming pool and the views from every corner make a night in the Santa Catalina Castle a truly memorable experience.
