Right at the heart of Cordoba's labyrinthine Jewish Quarter, this wonderfully atmospheric hotel occupies various restored mansions dating back to the 14th century. Tranquil, fountain-centred courtyards (and even a small swimming pool) offer welcome respite from the Cordoban heat, despite being right next to the Alcázar and just a short walk from the Mezquita and the Synagogue.

Set around elegant Renaissance and Mudejar-style patios or up secret staircases, the 64 rooms are all highly individual and warmly decorated in a classical fashion in keeping with the sumptuous style of the buildings. Local touches including traditional Cordoba's leather headboards, antique wardrobes and bold textiles are stylishly combined to achieve an extravagant yet tasteful d?cor.

Though there's no restaurant the hotel offers a delicious breakfast as well as room service and snacks and drinks can be enjoyed by the pool or on the many sun terraces and common areas. The helpful, professional staff will ensure you get the most out of your stay in the city.

Roman Bridge - Cordoba

Córdoba, Andalucia

As capital of the vast Caliphate of Cordoba the city was Europe's most populous and also its greatest centre of learning.  Prior to that Cordoba was chosen by the Romans as capital of Hispania Uterior. Understandable then that the whole central area is now declared a UNESCO World Heritage site!

The Great Mosque, the largest Islamic edifice in the western world, is undoubtedly the main attraction. Truly breathtaking in both style and scale, here you can see the passing of empires with vestiges of Visigothic and Moorish times as well as the stamp of the Reconquista in the form of the Renaissance cathedral nave built in the heart of the original Islamic mosque.

But there's plenty more besides; get lost in the labyrinth lanes of the Jewish Quarter and don't miss the beautiful patios literally festooned with potted geraniums. Visit the Roman walls and bridge or the archaeological remains at Medina Azahara
